Pregnancy & postnatal massage · Islington

Pregnancy & postnatal massagein Islington and North London.

Gentle, specialist massage through pregnancy and into the months after. Safe, supported and shaped around your changing body, with a therapist trained in pregnancy massage and 27 years in health care.

A calm, supported pregnancy massage, or the restful room

Carrying and recovering from a baby asks an enormous amount of the body. The lower back that takes the new weight, the hips that shift and open, the shoulders that round over feeding and carrying. Pregnancy and postnatal massage is a chance to set some of that down, safely and gently, and simply be cared for.

This is tailored, careful work for:

  • Lower back, hip and pelvic ache as your body changes and carries more
  • Tension, tiredness and broken sleep through pregnancy
  • Heaviness and aching in the legs and feet
  • The physical load of feeding, lifting and carrying after birth
  • Needing a quiet hour that is simply, unapologetically, for you

Every session begins with listening, and moves at the pace your body sets.

A soft, restful studio detail
The work

Safe, and led by you.

You're supported in a comfortable, well-cushioned position and never asked to lie in a way that doesn't feel safe or good. Pressure stays gentle to moderate and is always led by how you feel on the day.

We begin with a short health check so I understand where you are and anything to be mindful of, and we'll find the right timing for your stage together. Where it helps, I'm glad to work alongside your midwife or GP.

What it offers

How it helpsbody and mind.

Eases the aches of change

Softens the back, hip and pelvic tension that comes with a growing bump and a shifting centre of gravity.

Helps you rest

Calms a busy, tired nervous system and often helps with the sleep that pregnancy and new parenthood can disrupt.

A moment of care

Gentle, unhurried attention at a time when so much focus is, rightly, on someone else.

Restores you postnatally

Meets the physical toll of feeding and carrying, and holds a little space for you to recover.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Is pregnancy massage safe?

Yes, when it's carried out by someone trained in it, which I am. You're supported and comfortable throughout, pressure is gentle, and we begin with a health check so I understand your stage and anything to take care with. For higher-risk pregnancies I may ask you to check with your midwife or GP first.

When in pregnancy can I have a massage?

The right time depends on you and your pregnancy, so the best thing is to get in touch and we'll talk it through. I'll always make sure any treatment is safe and appropriate for your stage.

Will I be comfortable during the massage?

Yes. You're supported and well cushioned throughout, in a position that's safe and genuinely restful, and we adjust anything that doesn't feel right. Your comfort leads the whole session.

Can I have a massage after giving birth?

Yes. Postnatal massage helps with the physical load of feeding and carrying, and offers a little restoration for you. The right time to start varies from person to person, so get in touch and we'll find what works, taking extra care after a caesarean or a complicated birth.

How much does it cost?

Sessions are £40 for 30 minutes, £75 for 60 minutes and £107 for 90 minutes.
